About Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center
The Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center offers educational and research resources in a natural setting. It is open to the public for visits from Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m to 5 p.m, and on Sunday from 12 p.m to 5 p.m. Visits are charged a nominal fee. A mile of boardwalks and gravel paths direct your path through the conservation space as they lead you to distinct areas. The Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center features the hardwood forests, cypress-tupelo swamp and the wildlife-watching along the trail where visitors can come close to animals in the 9,500 sq foot exhibit building. Information related to flora and fauna of the area, an extensive waterfowl decoy carving collection and the minerals and artifact displays are also featured in the building. Hotels close to the Bluebonnet include Fairfield Inn and Suites and theRenaissance Baton Rouge.
