BUTT LIFT BATON ROUGE, LA

Buttock Lift in Baton Rouge Louisiana

Also known as gluteoplasty, a butt lift is a cosmetic procedure to lift and tighten the skin around the buttocks area. Plastic surgeons remove excess skin and reposition the surrounding tissue to create a more pleasing and youthful body contour. A butt lift procedure should not be confused with the Brazilian butt lift – which usually adds buttock volume using injections from your own fat to create a lifting effect and increase projection.

Baton Rouge plastic surgeon Dr. Taylor Theunissen has helped countless patients improve the appearance of their buttocks. He works individually with each one of his patients to learn about their expectations and then creates a treatment plan that will yield the best results.

Dr. Theunissen’s Approach

Dr. Theunissen will usually order pre-op lab tests to ascertain the status of your health. You’ll be required to stay away from many anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin, and herbal supplements. Depending on the condition of your butt and the kind of results that you are looking for, the surgeon will craft the best treatment approach for you.

SURGICAL TECHNIQUE

During the buttock enhancement surgery at the Theunissen Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Theunissen will make an incision along the lower back region, from hip to hip. The excessive skin below the incision line will be pulled up to lift the buttocks. Extra fat is removed to achieve the desired contoured. Plastic surgeons usually administer antibiotics to reduce the risk of infection during the butt lift surgery. The entire procedure takes about 2-2.5 hours to complete.

AFTER SURGERY

Following buttock enhancement surgery, the surgeon will cover your incision sites with surgical dressing. Drains may be inserted under the skin close to the incision lines to drain any excess fluids or blood. It’s recommended that you take a walk as early as the first day following buttock lift surgery in order to prevent the formation of blood clots. Patients may experience moderate pain, but your surgeon will provide pain meditation to tackle this. Any instructions provided by your buttock lift surgeon, including taking care of your incision sites and handling the drains should be strictly adhered to. Patients are required to wear supportive garments for a couple of weeks after this procedure. Drains are typically removed after 7-10 days. Over the first few weeks following buttock enhancement surgery, you’ll need to be careful while moving, gradually increasing your activity level.

BUTT LIFT RECOVERY

Since buttock lift is usually a straight forward procedure the recovery process is usually speedy. Liposuction is usually the most non-invasive aspect of the procedure, and patients will likely experience some bruising and swelling – which resolves within the first two weeks. Most patients are back up just a few days after the procedure but should expect to see the final results in about six months’ time. In cases where the incision made is larger, the recovery duration for buttock lift surgery can be a bit longer. Talk to your surgeon about getting back to work and what you should expect during the butt lift recovery stretch.

DR. THEUNISSEN’S APPROACH

SURGICAL TECHNIQUE

Depending on the physical condition of the patient, the desired results, and the type of liposuction surgery needed, the liposuction can be performed as an outpatient procedure.

Before the liposuction is carried, anesthesia will be administered by a licensed professional. The anesthesia will also vary depending on the amount of fat being removed and the degree of the surgery. Lipo is performed under general anesthesia sp the case will be carried out while the patient is asleep.

Once the anesthesia has been administered and has taken effect, the procedure will begin. Through small incisions, a device called a cannula, which is a small and stainless steel instrument that is attached to a suction pump or large syringe will be inserted to the areas where the excess fat needs to be removed. The length of the procedure varies from person to person and will depend on the amount of fat that has to be removed to create a smoother body contour.

DURING / AFTER SURGERY

As mentioned, liposuction is an outpatient cosmetic procedure which is performed under general anesthesia. The time of the procedure varies from patient to patient and will depend on the amount of excess fat that has to be removed. It can be carried out as a stand-alone procedure or can also be combined with other procedures to provide the patient with their desired results. In some cases, the surgeon may also advise that the liposuction procedure be carried out over a period of time for the health and safety of the patient. Once the procedure is over, patients are advised to wear a compression garment which helps the body adjust to their new weight and body shape. While bruising and swelling is expected after any surgical procedure, the swelling and bruising will start to subside within the first seven days of the procedure. That being said, the final results of the procedure will not be visible for another several months, depending on the complexity of the liposuction. While the liposuction procedure does not leave a small scar, the marks should fade in time.

HOW LONG WILL A BUTT LIFT LAST?

The results of a buttock enhancement procedure are usually long-lasting. Particularly, maintaining a stable weight can help retain the results of this procedure.
